Michelle + KeithTopsmead State Forest Engagement SessionLitchfield, CT

Late last year, during a fall engagement session at Topsmead State Forest in Litchfield, Connecticut, I found myself chasing light and smiles more fervently than in most shoots.

Keith seemed stoic by nature; the “strong silent type”. A smile was not his expression of choice and, like many, he was a little camera shy. Nonetheless, there was nowhere on earth he’d rather be than with his bride-to-be, Michelle, capturing this milestone of their engagement.

They complimented each other well. She struck me as friendly, positive and just the right kind of bubbly. Their personalities interlocked like gears in a clock: keeping sync and step in a relationship that was steady and ready for life as one.

His smile was an elusive genie only conjured their sweet gazes at one another and inside jokes (of which I was not privy). The sun was setting quickly and we had a lot of shooting to do, so I found myself chasing the right light and the right smile, all throughout the fields of Topsmead State Forest.

Please enjoy some of my favorites from their engagement shoot while I look forward to their September wedding at V.I.P Country Club.
